In 1993, English Wright & Brockman launched its specialist non-life actuarial consultancy services.  In 1997, English Matthews Brockman was formed by the merger with Matthews Consultants, a specialist reinsurance consultancy.  Now known as EMB Consultancy LLP (EMB), we have expertise in all areas of non-life insurance, in particular, dynamic financial analysis, pricing, reserving, and reinsurance. 

EMB is now the UK's largest non-life independent actuarial and business consultancy offering expertise in all areas of non-life insurance, with offices in Epsom (UK), London (UK), Cambridge (UK), Germany, France, North America, India, Korea, South Africa and Australia. 



In 2001, EMB won The Review Magazine Service Provider of the Year Award - the panel said "EMB have an outstanding record of service to the reinsurance industry".  In 2003, EMB won the Queen's Award for Innovation, one of the most prestigious commendations open to any business in the UK.  The citations highlighted EMB's  "development and continuous improvement of software". 

In just over ten years EMB has become the dominant actuarial consultancy in personal lines, especially in the motor market.  In the international market, it has achieved a significant presence at Lloyd's of London and a growing client base among commercial insurers and reinsurers, many of them based overseas.  It is also a leader in the large and growing run-off business.
